Nippon Cinema

Nippon Cinema presents 22 films from the whole range of current Japanese film productions. Among them there are 9 Germany Premieres, 7 European Premieres and 1 International Premiere. Plus, some of the movies will be introduced to you by the filmmakers themselves. Eight movies of the cinema program will be repeated at the Film Theater Valentin.

Nippon Cinema Award

For the second time Nippon Connection will reward one movie with a NIPPON CINEMA AWARD.The Nippon Cinema Award for the best Japanese film, determined by audience votes, is endowed with a 2,000 € prize for the first time. This was made possible by the Bankhaus Metzler. All German premieres are nominated for the competition. The audience will be the jury and will choose their favorite movie among the 16 films below. The Awards Ceremony will be on Sunday, the 23rd of April at 7.45 pm (before STRANGER OF MINE).
